All across the country high school seasons have been kicking off in the past couple of weeks. While Omari Spellman's St. Thomas More team has been active for a couple of week's, Dylan Painter and the rest of Villanova's Philadelphia recruiting area just kicked off this week. Here's a look at how they've been doing.

Omari Spellman

St. Thomas More is off to a 4-0 start on the season, with Spellman in particular logging some impressive performances thus far - especially at the National Prep Showcase two weekends ago. Spellman is averaging 23 points and 8.5 rebounds thus far, and has recorded two double-doubles.

Next Up: A monster showdown with Brewster Academy (who features Top 100 recruit Taurean Thompson) at 2pm on Sunday at home, followed by home games against South Kent (12/9), Bridgton Academy (12/11) and Coastal Academy (12/13).

Dylan Painter

Unfortunately PennLive isn't recording rebounding numbers, but Painter has looked good on the offensive end for Hershey, who is 1-1 on the season after rebounding from an opening-night loss to Shamokin to beat Cumberland Valley. Painter finished with 14 and 23 points, respectively and showed off his range with two 3-pointers in Saturday's win. He's averaging 18.5 ppg on the season.

Next Up: At Mechanicsburg (12/8) and at home to Red Land (12/11).

Bonus! Top priority in 2017 Lonnie Walker and Reading got off on the winning foot Saturday night in a big way. Walker put up 25 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 blocks in the win. Head over to City of Basketball Love for all your coverage of the Philadelphia high school scene's opening weekend!
