The Sun's Arizin: A big day for Villanova Basketball at Pearl Harbor

The early season measuring stick game is finally here.

Happy Monday, 'Nova Nation! A weekend without Villanova hoops was odd (and somewhat refreshing without the added stress), but now the big game we've all been waiting for is here. Given how good the Big East looks this is just one of several tests throughout the year, but it certainly will be a March-like test in that the game presents an unfamiliar opponent in an unfamiliar gym.

When Fox Sports reached out to Jay Wright and Villanova to see if they would be interested in playing a game at Pearl Harbor on the 74th anniversary of the Japanese attack that began the involvement of the United States in World War II, Wright was all in.

Villanova began the 2015-16 indoor track & field season on a high note by hosting the Jack Pyrah Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The meet was held at Alumni Gym on the Haverford College campus and the Wildcats won four different events on a successful day overall. The first place finishes came in the 60 meters, the Mile, the pole vault and the shot put.
