Villanova Wildcats senior Darrun Hilliard was named National Player of the Week by CBS Sports, ESPN's Andy Katz and SNY's Adam Zagoria. The awards deservedly come following a week in which Hilliard dropped in 16 points in a tough road win over Providence before catching fire in Hinkle Fieldhouse by hitting eight three-pointers (including the game-winner with 1.5 seconds left) en route to 31 points in a win over Butler.
The Bethlehem, PA native is averaging 14.1 points per game for the Wildcats this season to go with as 3 rebounds per game and 2.1 assists per game.
Hilliard also won national Player of the Week honors two years ago when Villanova notched upsets of [then] #5 Louisville and [then] #3 Syracuse.
