The "interim" tag that was placed on him in October has been removed; Villanova alumn Joseph Clancy has been named by President Obama as the new Director of the Secret Service.

The Class of 1978 alumn stepped in to lead the scandal-ridden agency in October and has implemented a full agency review, increased training, and personnel updates in the past four months. He was the former lead agent on President Obama’s detail and retired from the Secret Service in 2011.

Following his retirement from civil service, he was the Director of Corporate Security at Comcast before being tapped on the shoulder by Obama.
