Running back Aaron Forbes of Newburgh Free Academy (NY) gave a verbal commitment to Villanova on January 7th, but received an offer from Vanderbilt last week and publicly announced that he was going to evaluate the SEC institution ahead of National Signing Day on Wednesday.
Midday on Monday, Forbes announced that he will indeed stick with Villanova and sign his letter of intent on Wednesday as planned.

Forbes previously talked about how he didn't want to dishonor the verbal commitment he had made to Andy Talley, and in the end it was one of deciding factors in his decision - though he was pleased that his exploits had earned him the option of playing in the best conference in college football.
@ironaaron25 on Nova over Vandy: "I'm a man of my word and not going to back out (on Nova) now. I will stay loyal and strong to the team."

@ironaaron25 on Vandy offer: "It was humbling to know that I could play on that level, that they would want a kid all the way from NY."

This is obviously a huge win for Villanova on the recruiting trail, and a decision that will immediately make Forbes a fan-favorite among 'Nova Nation.
