Brandon Chadbourn has officially signed his National Letter of Intent with Villanova, the school announced this morning. The 6'0" 190 lb. Altoona (PA) athlete originally committed to Villanova in early August, making him the Wildcats' eighth verbal commitment at the time of his pledge.
Operating as a quarterback for Altoona, Chadbourn was able to show off his sub-4.5 speed whilst producing highlight-reel touchdowns over and over again. At Villanova, he'll likely either line up at wide receiver or safety. The option to keep him on offense is tempting, since he's dynamite with the ball in his hands.
Poppy Livers is gone on offense but John Robertson has a stable full of weapons (with more joining Chadbourn in 2015) at his disposal. Because of his experience at quarterback, Chadbourn could fit in nicely with Andy Talley's craving for special plays.
On defense, the need is much more glaring in the secondary. Villanova has plenty of cornerbacks on the roster, but lost two good safeties in the offseason and don't have much depth on the roster. Chadbourn's route to playing time would likely come much quicker on that side of the ball.
Welcome Brandon to 'Nova Nation!
