Villanova was tested by Providence (and passed) in the semifinals but ultimately defeated Xavier to claim the 2015 Big East Tournament Championship last week. That, combined with pre-ACC Championship losses by Duke and Virginia bumped Jay Wright's Wildcats up to #2 in the last AP Poll before the the 2015 NCAA Tournament.
Kentucky is the first team in 23-years to be #1 each week; from Pre-Season to the final week of the AP Poll.
The #2 ranking is the highest historical spot that 'Nova has reached; they also reached #2 in 2005-06.
Also representing the Big East, Georgetown comes in at #22 and Butler sneaks in at #24.
Davidson and Boise State dropped from the Top 25.
