No coach of a number 1 seed team wants to be the first to lose to a 16-seed. Villanova head coach Jay Wright admitted so to the press on Wednesday. If there was extra pressure on the Wildcats' leader heading into the NCAA Tournament, it didn't show as Villanova manhandled Lafayette by 41.
The Villanova head coach owned the sidelines of Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh on Thursday evening. In a return to his decadent three-piece look, Wright donned a navy suit highlighted by lavender stripes; a suit that has only been worn once before. Underneath, he wore a pink shirt and solid fuchsia tie.
He finished the look off with a red pocket square.
