Jay Wright and his Villanova staff spent the first recruiting weekend of the live period in Hampton, VA at the first Nike EYBL event. Wright was twice spotted checking out the Expressions Elite program, based in Massachusetts, and has made his first offer following the weekend's action.
Villanova has offered 2017 wing Jermaine Samuels of Expressions Elite (MA).

Jermaine Samuels is a new name for Villanova, but he's already built a strong reputation nationally. While it's early for 2017 evaluations, the 6'6" small forward currently he ranks 23rd nationally (#5 SF) on the 247 Composite, and has been labeled as the top player in Massachusetts. He already holds offers from Connecticut, Providence, Boston College, Boston University and Dartmouth, so Villanova appears to be one of the premier programs getting involved with him early.
Samuels is the type of wing that Wright has looked for in recent years. He's long, can attack the glass, and has a good looking outside shot. He's also the AAU teammate of 6'11" forward Nick Richards, who visited Villanova for Hoops Mania in October.
