Penn Relays: Villanova Women capture 4th straight

Villanova University claimed their fourth consecutive Penn Relays Distance Medley Relay and are Champions of America.

Angel Piccirillo started 'Nova off with a 3:23 split in the 1200. Michaela Wilkins than ran 56.30 400m and Cleirigh Buttner finished her 800m leg in 2:09.91 before handing off to Stephanie Schappert whose 4:39.61 1600m run gave Villanova the victory in 11:09:06.

During the post-race presser, Villanova head coach Gina Procaccio was proud of her girls and the University, "Winning here never gets old. I was going crazy during the race. This is our turf."

The only longer streak in the event at The Relays was also Villanova who won from 1987 through 1991.
