Villanova Men's Athletics in top 25 of Capital One Cup

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Villanova remains in the Top 25 of the Capital One Cup following the winter sports. After claiming points in Men's Cross Country and FCS Football earlier in the year, the Men's Basketball team's 9th place finish have the Wildcats on 22 points for the academic year; good for 23rd in the men's NCAA Rankings.

There are two winners for the Cup, one for women's sports and one for men's. The schools get a combined $400,000 to put towards student-athlete scholarships. According to Rece Davis, "The money is important because it goes right to the people who are playing sports while pursuing their education."

Also representing the BIG EAST, Providence is #7, Georgetown is #27, Creighton is #36, and St. John's is #78

Currently, the Lady Wildcats are out of the Top 70.
