Korey Stevens commits to Villanova

The Baltimore native picked the Wildcats on Tuesday night.

The Villanova Wildcats football team picked up another verbal commitment when DB Korey Stevens announced his commitment via Twitter on Tuesday night. Stevens is the third verbal commitment in the class of 2016, joining Jeff Wileyand Zac Kerxton.

Stevens measures in at 5'11" and 175 pounds. While he plays both cornerback and wide receiver for Gilman High School in Baltimore, Maryland, he'll be suiting up on the defensive side of the ball for 'Nova when he arrives on campus. Stevens shows very good speed and footwork in his highlight videos, and he's got good technique in coverage which allows him to drop off his man and make a play on the ball when appropriate.

His offensive skills shouldn't be discounted either - he's very good at tracking the ball in the air on both offense and defense which should allow him to become a playmaker at the next level.

Stevens chose Villanova overs offers from Northern Illinois, Toledo, Charlotte and Old Dominion. Those first three schools play in the FBS, so that should tell you a bit about the quality of player that Villanova is bringing in.

Welcome Korey to 'Nova Nation!
