Yesterday the USA U19 World Champion Team finalized its training camp roster. The list includes of 24 players from various high schools across the country. Incoming Villanova Wildcats Jalen Brunson and Eric Paschall are among those 24.

"It should be looked upon as a tremendous honor to be selected to tryout for this team," stated Jim Boeheim, the USA Basketball Junior National Team's Committee Chair. He added, "Our committee does a great job identifying players who will represent our country in international competition."

The individuals will report to Colorado Springs from June 13-20. The team will be finalized on June 21st when the roster is cut down to 12. They will make the trip to Crete, Greece to participate in the FIBA U19 World Championships from June 27-July 5.

Arizona Wildcats coach Sean Miller will take over the U19 head coaching duties after former Florida Gators head coach Billy Donovan went to the Oklahoma City Thunder. The assistant coaches are Archie Miller of the Dayton Flyers and Ed Cooley of the Providence Friars.

Also invited to the training camp are Tyus Battle and Isaiah Briscoe, two recruits Villanova had showed heavy interest in before being cut from their respective lists.

L.J. Peak, a rising sophomore at Georgetown, was also invited.

As noted above, this serves as a great chance for Paschall and Brunson to form some chemistry on and off the court. While Paschall already has some college experience with the Fordham Rams, both will benefit from seeing some international competition under the coaching of individuals with great postseason success.
