Jack Schetelich commits to Villanova

The 'Cats have added another dual-threat quarterback to the pipeline.

Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

Villanova received a verbal commitment from quarterback Jack Schetelich on Thursday afternoon, he confirmed to VU Hoops. Schetelich's pledge makes it six verbal commitments on the year for the 'Cats, and the third straight class they've brought in a quarterback as they prepare for life with John Robertson next fall.

Schetelich is a 6'2" 185 pound quarterback from Cranford, NJ who threw for 1,548 yards and 18 touchdowns last year with just 4 interceptions. He also ran for 1,388 yards and 25 TDs (7.1 ypc) while leading Cranford to an 11-1 record.

While 247 lists Schetelich as a pro-style QB, he can clearly get it done with his legs too which makes him a perfect fit for Villanova's spread offense. He'll join (RS) freshman Zach Bednarczyk as well as incoming freshmen Adeyemi Da Silva and Jackson Bradley in a highly anticipated QB competition next summer to replace Robertson.

Welcome Jack to 'Nova Nation!
