The Temple Owls released their 2015-16 non-conference basketball schedule on Thursday, confirming their game against the Villanova Wildcats on February 17th. Per OwlScoop, that game at the Liacouras Center will be on ESPN as a part of the sports network's Rivalry Week.
We know ESPN doesn't care much for the Big East anymore, but Jalen Brunson vs. his father's alma mater is clearly enough of a storyline to get the Worldwide Leader to put the Wildcats on their airwaves. The Liacouras Center should be quite the atmosphere for that contest.
Villanova beat Temple last season by 23 points and have a 45-42 all-time record against the Owls. Despite last season's lopsided score, Temple finished with a 26-11 record (13-5 AAC) and made it to the Final Four of the NIT, where they fell to Miami (FL). The Owls are also bringing in a strong freshmen class made up of Levan Alston, Trey Lowe and Ernest Aflakpui.
