Philadelphia Eagles sign Villanova running back Kevin Monangai

After a strong rookie mini-camp, Monangai will now attend training camp.

Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles have signed former Villanova Wildcats running back Kevin Monangai to a contract, per Monangai's Instagram. Monangai went undrafted during the 2015 NFL Draft, but was invited to the Eagles' rookie mini-camp in May.

Monangai has obviously impressed the Eagles staff enough during his time with the team to warrant a contract. He joins Earnest Pettway (Kansas City Chiefs) and Vince Kowalski (Green Bay Packers) as former Wildcats to join the NFL this summer.

As Monangai says, the work isn't over. NFL teams will have to trim their rosters down to 53 players before the start of the season, but for now Monangai's NFL dream is still alive. Congrats Kevin!
