Happy Thursday, 'Nova Nation! John Robertson is the best player in the FCS. There's no doubt about that. But a concussion kept him out of the playoffs last season, and was a contributing factor in Villanova going home early. Now entering his senior season, Andy Talley is faced with the same decision he has every summer: to run or not to run Robertson?
With the wide receiver rotation a big question mark and just Gary Underwood (coming off a serious injury) returning as an experienced running back, the load is going to fall on Robertson to create the offense. At what expense though? Once you get one concussion, another is more likely and it's not something to mess around with.
Should Talley protect Robertson and ensure he's out there every Saturday, or unleash his running ability and roll the dice?
And now, the "news."
