The Sun's Arizin: The growing transfer epidemic in college basketball

New, 16 comments

Villanova has experienced this trend.

TGIF, 'Nova Nation! Sports Illustrated put out a pretty decent statistical analysis of the growing transfer epidemic in college basketball. The main hypothesis seems to be that if you transfer high schools before college, change verbal commitments or transfer in college, you're more likely to transfer in college.. My first thought was that this hadn't really affected Villanova, but we've experienced this too.

Markus Kennedy hopped around high schools before leaving for SMU. Taylor King came from Duke before leaving for Concordia. Mislav Brzoja committed to Northwestern before coming to Villanova (and then transferred to Evansville). Dylan Ennis transferred from Rice before leaving for Oregon. Only Isaiah Armwood strikes me as a recent transfer without prior history of transferring.

So maybe it is a trend after all? (Buck that trend Omari!)

And now, the "news."
