The depth chart for this weekend's Villanova Wildcats football game against the Fordham Rams, and there's some positive news to read in to.
Starting running back Gary Underwood sustained a nasty-looking chest injury against Connecticut Huskies in week 1 and his status was uncertain for this weekend. Underwood is still listed as the starter, but according to Andy Talley he won't be available for a couple of weeks. The MRI came back negative, but there were some "abnormalities."
On the offensive line, Jake Prus begins his multiple week hiatus to donate bone marrow, and so true freshman Ethan Greenidge will get the start at right tackle in his stead. Greenidge is physically equipped to handle the job at 6'4" 345 pounds, but is just a freshman, so manage your expectations accordingly.
Keep an eye out for Lincoln Collins as well. He was listed in the two-deep against UConn but wasn't healthy enough to make an impact. Still not status update on him, but getting him back should help the passing attack immensely.
Some backup changes to note - Brandon Hitner is now the primary backup at RG (replacing Louie Csaszar), and George Benakis has slotted in behind Brad Seaton at LT. TE Doug Turrell is listed as the backup to Greenidge at RT. It'd be worth the laugh to see the number 97 lining up on the offensive line, and Turrell is a former tackle so this isn't as desperate as it looks.
The defense remained exactly the same as week one - no surprise after they got through it injury-free and with a solid performance to boot.
