Villanova's standard home white and away navy uniforms have largely remained unchanged since the 2010-11 season. The clean uniform featured an off-color collar (navy on the home whites and light blue on the away navy jerseys) and then two inch-wide stripes from the underarm straight down through the shorts. Those parallel lines tapered to the classic Block V logo as the base of the short.
However, some candid shots that head coach Jay Wright tweeted from yesterday's photo shoot suggest a new uniform for the upcoming season.
Villanova's jersey becomes simpler with the removal of the underarm stripes as the majority of the stylistic changes in the new uniform occur with the shorts. The new shorts lose the parallel lines in favor of a very narrow V that taper to the Block V which holds the same location on the side of the short's cuff.
In previous years, the striping of the main accent was matched equally by the secondary. However, one can quickly notice that the secondary accent color (light blue) is majorly de-emphasized in the new short. No pictures of the away jersey were taken, so it will be interesting to see if the main accent color on the away navy uniforms is white or light blue.
