Villanova Football Depth Chart: Bednarczyk starts at QB, and his back-up is not Da Silva

It's clear that true-freshman quarterback Adeyemi Da Silva is redshirting this season, as walk-on Jackson Bradley gets the nod as QB2 this week.

With John Robertson sidelined "indefinitely" after a complete tear of his PCL in last week's game against Delaware, redshirt freshman Zach Bednarczyk will get the start under center (or actually a few feet behind it) against Penn. It's no surprise that the left-hander got the call after being the back-up through the first three games, and performing impressively to secure a win for the 'Cats in the 4th quarter last week.

Surprisingly, however, Villanova didn't bump up 6-5, 200-pound freshman dual-threat Adeyemi Da Silva to QB2 as a result of the injury as well. Da Silva is the only other scholarship quarterback on the roster this season. It would appear that the coaching staff plans to redshirt him to allow him to learn the offense and give him a better shot at playing time later. Instead, QB2 will be fellow true-freshman Jackson Bradley, who joined the program as a preferred walk-on this season.

The offensive line will also shuffle for this game, with Doug Turrell moving from tight end over to left tackle, and Jake Prus returning early from his bone marrow donation to take his spot at right tackle. That shifts Ryan Morris to the starting tight end role, with Ryan Bell getting some reps as well.
