In case you missed the little tidbit that we dropped on twitter on Wednesday afternoon, one of 'Nova Nation's favorite national writers, Dana O'Neil at ESPN, will be releasing a book on the Villanova Wildcats' 2015-16 National Championship season.
Currently titled, Long Shots: Jay Wright, Villanova, and College Basketball's Most Unlikely Champion, O'Neil told VU Hoops that her manuscript is due at the start of September with the plan for a release in the New Year. Currently, Amazon lists that date as February 1, 2017.
The abstract for the book notes that O'Neil goes behind the scenes to get a deeper look at how a championship team works, but more importantly for any 'Nova fan, she will address Villanova "overcoming a disappointing NCAA Tournament track record, the breakup of the Big East conference as we knew it, and Nova’s underdog status among traditional college hoops powerhouses, Jay Wright and his team provided the blueprint for how a “have-not” can prevail over the blue bloods the right way – the Villanova Basketball Way."
Who is excited for the book? Have you pre-ordered it yet?
