On Thursday afternoon, 2017 5-star guard D.J. Harvey cut his list down to 16 schools. Your Villanova Wildcats made the cut along with notables like Arizona, Duke, Maryland, North Carolina and UCLA.
To the 50+ schools, thank YOU coaches that took the time to recruit me. I'm honored to announce my Final 16 #blessed pic.twitter.com/7caD5H6ypa

Villanova offered Harvey back in April of 2015 after watching him in the Nike EYBL where he was one of the top performers on Team Takeover despite playing up a year. Harvey then took a visit to the Main Line in late May, a visit that reportedly went "very well" per Harvey's father.
Harvey visited again as part of the star-studded roster for Hoops Mania, and in recent interviews has spoke highly of Villanova. Despite all this, the industry still sees Villanova on the outside looking in for his eventual signature.
In a follow-up tweet, Harvey indicated that he'll trim his list further prior to the start of the EYBL season this spring. As silly as a cut to 16 schools might be, it's better to be on those lists than off them and Harvey is a special talent. Villanova should continue to prioritize him in the months to come.
