On Sunday evening, the Villanova Wildcats picked up a verbal commitment from Patrick Lawler, a 6'7" 270 lb. offensive lineman from Braintree, Mass. Lawler announced his commitment via Twitter.
Happy to say I have committed to play football at Villanova University. Thank you to everyone whose helped me along the way. #NovaNation

Lawler attends Thayer Academy and played both offensive and defensive line in high school. At Villanova he'll join a deep and talented group on the offensive line, most likely projecting at tackle in the future. Prior to committing to the Wildcats, Lawler held an offers from New Hampshire and Stony Brook and was receiving interest from UMass.
In a brief exchange with VU Hoops, Lawler indicated that 'Nova was the best fit both academically and socially, as well as for his football career. Throughout the recruiting process he grew close with both Mark Ferrante and Tony Trisciaini, and, "couldn't be more thrilled coach Ferrante is the head coach in waiting." When asked if he had any words for 'Nova Nation, Lawler said, "I cannot wait to head down this summer and bring back another national championship to 'Nova!"
Welcome to 'Nova Nation, Patrick!
