Matt Szczur Bone Marrow story on ESPN’s Outside the Lines

Villanova Football head coach Andy Talley is the biggest supporter of testing your bone marrow to possibly save others’ lives. His non-profit has fostered over 260 transplants since 2008.

The most famous donation came from Matt Szczur, who led the Wildcats to the 2009 FCS National Championship, who donated some of his bone marrow in May of 2010.

Szczur was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the fifth round of the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft. He played in 107 games this season for the Cubbies where he hit .259 with 5 home runs and 24 RBI.
