2017 Preseason Coaches Poll: Villanova at #3

‘Cats start the season behind Duke and Kansas according to the coaches.

USA Today has released their 2017 Preseason Coaches poll and the reigning Villanova Wildcats have been tabbed at the #3 spot.

Duke starts the 2016-17 season at the top spot with the Kansas Jayhawks as the lone schools ahead of ‘Nova. Kentucky and Oregon round out the Top 5.

The BIG EAST is also represented by Xavier at #8 and Creighton at #23. Seton Hall is receiving votes.

Looking ahead at Villanova’s non-conference schedule, ACC foes Virginia is tabbed at #7, Purdue is at #15, and Notre Dame is receiving votes.

Villanova’s season tips off with an exhibition on November 5th against IUP and then, in earnest, against Lafayette on November 11th.
