Adam Zagoria has the scoop on Blair Academy (N.J.) guard Anthony Mack, who could make a verbal commitment as early as this week. Mack named a final 5 of Georgia, Missouri, St. Louis, Villanova and Wyoming.
Here’s Mack on ‘Nova:
“Obviously, Coach [Jay] Wright is a legendary coach, they just won a national championship. That playing style also fits me really well. I play like a [Ryan] Arcidiacono, that type of player. I’m a really hard-working player. In his system, whatever minutes I play, I think that I can really show out and with that group of guys I think we can get to a national championship like they did this past year.”
While Mack says he wants to commit in the coming days, he did leave open the possibility of opening up his recruitment.
Mack was scouted multiple times by Villanova in previous weeks, but did not visit for Hoops Mania on Friday. No scholarship offer has been extended (at least publicly), so Mack to Villanova doesn’t seem like a likely end state.
