The Sun's Arizin: Villanova partners with Cleveland's KeyBank

New, comments

Its an interesting move for the bank that just recently entered the Philadelphia market.

The Pavilion still doesn't have a corporate name (and it won't), but it will host plenty of corporate promotions for one company, as part of the Wildcats' new deal with KeyBank -- a Cleveland-based institution you may remember for their signage during the World Series. The bank, which is now entering the Philadelphia market after making an acquisition of First Niagara, will be looking to use the Wildcats' partnership to build some brand awareness in the area.

Beyond traditional signage, the promotion will include opportunities for fans to get a free seat-upgrade, and a sweepstakes to allow a fan to travel to a road game on the bank. Not bad.

The whole thing was pulled together by Villanova Sports Properties, the Fox-Sports run entity that took over for IMG as the Wildcats' marketing and media rights partner.

And now, "the News"

Nova DE Tanoh Kpassagnon attracting NFL scouts | Philly.com
DEAN KENEFICK, Villanova's associate athletic director of communications, had a problem. Two weeks ago, when the Wildcats hosted Albany, he wasn't sure he'd have enough room in the press box for everybody who wanted a seat. That wasn't because of the matchup, even though it happened to be a good one. Instead it had everything to do with fifth-year senior defensive end Tanoh Kpassagnon, whose presence had some dozen or so NFL talent evaluators descending upon the Main Line to take notes. - Mike Kern, Philadelphia Daily News
