Saturday’s game between Villanova and Notre Dame was a huge occasion.
Besides a matchup between two undefeated squads, it was a marquee neutral site game aired on CBS supporting the Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund (which helps support the education of children of the victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks). Additionally, the dust was brushed off of a BIG EAST 2.0 rivalry.
And Jay Wright dressed for the occasion.
Nova’s head coach probably wasn’t expecting the need to overcome an 11-point deficit, but on the shoulders of Josh Hart’s 37 points, the Wildcats did just that in an eight point victory over the Fighting Irish in Newark.
Wright owned the sidelines in a double-breasted navy blue window pane suit in a pattern that can only be described as cross-striped (let us know if there is a real non-plaid name for this). Underneath he wore a light blue shirt and a darker blue tie with geometric shapes. He finished off the look with a light blue pocket square and an appropriately placed tie-bar.

4/5 Esquires: A very solid look for the occasion. #Windowpane
