Coach Ferrante and staff continue to crush it on the recruiting trail in advance of his first season in charge. In addition to LB Trajan Anderson, they also landed a commitment from 3-star running back Damone Drew last night.

Super-fast Drew is a 5’10” 195 lb. running back from Stafford, Va. where he attends Brooke Point High School. He held offers from Virginia, Syracuse, Temple, Cincinnati and Appalachian State — and chose the ‘Cats over all of them. 247Sports rated him 3-stars, and ranked him as the 65th-best running back in the 2017 class.
Also running as a sprinter on the track team, Drew’s personal record in the 100 meters was a 10.64; and he ran the 200 meters in 22.29.
Drew looks like the total package at the running back position, and has the making of a future star at the position down the line for ‘Nova. He was named conference offensive player of the year in Virginia, while fellow Fredericksburg-area commit Anderson was named defensive player of the year.
