Villanova junior Josh Hart has been named a finalist for the 2016 Jerry West Award. The award, named after Hall of Famer and 1959 NCAA Final Four Most Valuable Player Jerry West, is in its second year of being distributed and is given to the best shooting guard in Division I.
Hart is averaging 15.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game this season for 'Nova. He ranks in the BIG EAST's Top 10 leaders in eight statistical categories.
The field will be winnowed down to five in March with the winner being announced on April 8th at the ESPN College Basketball Awards Show in Los Angeles.
D’Angelo Russell from Ohio State won the inaugural award in 2015.
