Offensive lineman Paul Grattan signs with Villanova

Grattan looks like a future stud on the OL.

Mt. Lebanon (Pa.) offensive lineman Paul Grattan has signed his Letter of Intent to play football at Villanova, the school announced this morning. Grattan verbally committed to Villanova in August.

Grattan played left tackle in high school, but his 6'3" 295 pound frame may have him better suited to play on the interior of the line. We won't know for some time, as Villanova typically plays their best five players, regardless of position and does plenty of shuffling.

In 2015 Grattan was named AAAA All-State, Golden 33, Terrific 25, and 1st Team All-Conference.

Depth Chart (* denotes walk-on)

Class Name Height Weight
Senior Jon Green 6'2" 315 lbs.
Senior Brad Seaton 6'8 310 lbs.
Senior Jake Prus 6'6" 300 lbs.
Junior Matt Donoghue 6'4" 280 lbs.
Junior Alex Coren 6'2" 280 lbs.
Sophomore Keegan Sheedy 6'4" 255 lbs.
Sophomore Louie Csaszar 6'3" 305 lbs.
Senior Nico D'Angelo 6'3" 280 lbs.
Sophomore Ethan Greenidge 6'4" 345 lbs.
Sophomore Brandon Hitner 6'6" 285 lbs.

It's rare that true freshmen get in to the mix on the offensive line, and Villanova is bringing back most of their rotation from last season, but Grattan has the size to get in the fray right away. It wouldn't be a surprise to see him in the two-deep and get some mop-up duty next season.

Welcome Paul to 'Nova Nation!
