TGIF, 'Nova Nation! I'm on my way back to Atlanta as you read this, and I'm proud of the 'Nova Nation for their turnout at MSG yesterday. Easily the biggest crowd I remember, and that's a product of repeated winning. Love it.
Villanova scorched the nets yesterday. Which naturally prompted a fresh round of "Villanova relies on the 3" analysis. It's not only tired, it's just plain wrong. They've shot the 3 just fine (39%) in losses to Virginia and Xavier. They did not in losses to Oklahoma and Providence. So, again, this narrative is just lazy regurgitation of last year's failures.
Even if you want to argue they do, how are they 28-4? Because they play some of the best defense in the country. That's the main difference with this year's team - which is again a completely different team - and it needs to be recognized.
