Jay Wright closes door on NBA, commits future to Villanova

Straight from the man himself.

Robert Deutsch-USA TODAY Sports

Villanova Wildcats head coach Jay Wright was linked to the Phoenix Suns job yesterday, and he'll probably be linked to more jobs in the coming weeks. That's just how it is when you win a National Championship.

But NBC Philadelphia reporter Tim Furlong just got the word straight from Jay Wright's mouth prior to the Wildcats' championship parade in Center City.

Well, that just about does that. Kudos to Wright for stepping out in front of this after the school had no comment yesterdayDana O'Neil from ESPN also has a lengthy interview with Wright up now in which he says the NBA consideration is overblown (stay humble) and that while can't say he'll be here for life, this is where he wants to be.

Jay Wright is here to stay on the Main Line for the foreseeable future. He's already a legend, he's got the program rolling right now, and there should be plenty of more success, and maybe another National Championship in the future with his leadership.

It's a great day to be a Wildcat!
