Villanova Football commit Kyle McCloskey could have played basketball too

TGIF, 'Nova Nation! Very cool story from CoBL today detailing how QB commit Kyle McCloskey was actually offered a walk-on spot to the basketball team by Jay Wright, but turned him down! McCloskey considered being a dual-sport athlete in college, but has opted to focus solely on football.

He could still change his mind, and I'm sure Jay would take him in a heartbeat. But for now it looks like he's going to focus on winning a championship on the gridiron.

Villanova's football team was recognized for its academic success by the Football Championship Subdivision Athletics Directors Association (FCS ADA) in an announcement made on Wednesday morning. The recognition for the Wildcats comes as a result of Villanova having the highest multiyear Academic Progress Rate (APR) score in data released by the NCAA earlier this spring.
