It was a busy day for Villanova Wildcats coach Jay Wright as migrated between two of the circuits to get a look at Villanova’s top targets in both the 2017 and 2018 classes. This is after he spent Wednesday night at the Under Armour All-American camp watching players like Trevon Duval, Jahvon Quinerly, Elijah Weaver and Scottie Lewis.

Reminder, this is likely not an exhaustive list, but just what we’re rounding up from various sources.

Adidas Gauntlet

While Adidas is not typically full of ‘Nova targets, the big name here is Immanuel Quickley. Villanova recently offered the 5-star point guard and despite a rather quiet performance in the recent FIBA Tournament, he’s one of the best available in 2018.

Wright also watched the New England Playaz, which feature 2018 shooter Nate Laszewski, who recently picked up a Villanova offer as well.

Nike Peach Jam

Typically the main event for the Wildcats at this time of year given the Nike sponsorship, the entire staff met up last night for the evening sessions.

‘Nova was spotted watching the NY RENS vs. Houston Hoops. The RENS feature 2017 wing Jordan Tucker, who just confirmed he take a visit to Villanova in late August. Tucker finished with 13 points and 7 rebounds in the win, but didn’t shoot the ball particularly well from the field.

After Jay Wright made the 2 hour drive down from Spartanburg to North Augusta, he took in the PSA Cardinals vs. Spiece Indy Heat game. The Cardinals are loaded - Mohamed Bamba, Quade Green, Brandon Randolph and 2019 stud Cole Anthony have all been courted by ‘Nova. Randolph is likely the most realistic target right now, although they’ll keep chasing the others.

The nightcap featured the entire staff taking in the Team Final vs. E1T1 game - likely an indication of just how badly they want Lonnie Walker. Walker (26 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists) had everyone raving with several calling it the best performance of the young week.

Dhamir Cosby-Roundtree didn’t disappoint either (23 points, 9 rebounds) in the win, while E1T1’s Kevin Knox was spectacular as well in defeat (24 points, 9 rebounds).

Jay Wright and staff are back at the Peach Jam as of Friday morning - we’ll recap the event when the day is over.
