5-star point guard Trevon Duval cuts list to 10, including Villanova

It’ll be a while until Duval decides.

5-star PG Trevon Duval, the consensus crowned jewel of this year’s crop of guards, has cut his list of schools down to a final 10.

Duval still hasn’t announced where he’ll attend high school for this year, but it should be any day now and is expected to be on the East Coast. He played last season at under-the-microscope API in Texas, but maintains he isn’t worried about his academic standing with the NCAA.

Duval played for the Under Armour sponsored WE-R-1 program based in Delaware, fueling speculation that he will ultimately be bound for a UA-backed college program such as Maryland or UCLA.

Villanova has been involved with Duval longer than most and has stayed consistent in their recruitment of the elite lead guard. Realistically it doesn’t seem feasible for Duval to end up on the Main Line unless Jalen Brunson were to leave early for the NBA Draft. With Brunson geting some 1st-round hype entering the season, Wright will likely continue to monitor Duval throughout the winter and spring if playing time is likely to open up.
