The 6'7" 215 lb. prospect is currently ranked #67 nationally in the 247 Composite after a big spring and summer with the Mac Irvin Fire (Ill.) on the Nike EYBL circuit. Scout's Brian Snow says that Smith is likely to use his official visits to the schools on his list. Getting Smith on campus is a must if Villanova is to have a chance to win his signature.
Smith is in a similar mold to fellow Wildcats target Jermaine Samuels. Both are above the rim players who excel as slashers and can defend multiple positions on defense. They can hit the outside shot but need to continue to develop in that area.
In trimming his list down to this foursome, the Mac Irvin Fire AAU product eliminated Michigan, Illinois, and Wisconsin from his list.
