Football season is kicking off, and we have to talk NDSU again?

Hurray! Football is back!

Once that initial excitement wears off, its time to realize that the launch of FCS season means an inevitable stream of unrelenting discussion of North Dakota State to the exclusion of all others in the subdivision. Despite criticism and calls for the program to return to its roots at the Championship Subdivision level from some folks — especially as the team begins its journey as an independent this season — Bamford isn't listening to it. He's using all his focus and effort into finding UMass a conference at the FBS level, and he's not interested in the slightest in entertaining any ideas of a return to the FCS.
