The importance of recruiting 5-star basketball talent in winning a National Championship

Jalen Brunson continued a National Championship trend.

Huummmmp Daaaaaaaay! I'm back 'home' today in Philadelphia for work, and I'm going to try and pop by campus if time (traffic) allows. Looking forward to seeing the carnage on Lancaster and daydreaming of Radnor discontent.

Interesting article below that we've tackled before on here re: the importance of recruiting raw talent. It's not the end-be-all that Kentucky and Duke fans would have you believe, but the last 10 National Champions have had a 5-star talent on the roster. That's probably past the point of coincidence for you stat lovers.

Villanova is in a good spot recruiting, and don't expect that strategy to change. They'll go after the elite talent when they can, but they'll still stock the roster with Top-100 talent regardless, and that's more than enough to keep them competitive. The last few seasons have proven that.

And now, the "news."
