Villanova Wildcats head coach Jay Wright expects to have a final decision on Omari Spellman’s eligibility by the end of the month, per CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein.
Jay Wright told @CBSSports that Villanova should know something by the end of September regarding Omari Spellman's eligibility for 16-17.

At Villanova’s Summer Jam event in early August, Wright revealed that Spellman hadn’t been cleared by the NCAA, a problem which seems to date back to his first few semesters in high school.
Because the NCAA moves at a snail’s pace in cases like this annually, Spellman couldn’t play during Villanova’s exhibition tour in Spain. As of late August, nobody knew what the hell was going on with Spellman and an expected resolution.
So, this is a step in the right direction. Whatever the decision is - and the more this drags on the more it feels like Spellman will miss real games - the program will know soon and can adjust their plans with over two months until the season starts.
