Nathan Fondacaro was the first to verbally commit to Villanova from the Class of 2018, doing so back in June. On Wednesday morning, he made it official by sending in his signed letter of intent.

According to Kohl’s Professional Camps, a service that evaluates and focuses on specialists, Fondacaro is a five-star kicker and punter. He fulfilled both roles for St. Augustine (N.J.) and is capable of continuing that at the next level.
“He continues to get better and gain more confidence every time we see him Fondacaro had solid showings at the 2016 Eastern Winter Showcase and the 2017 Underclassman Challenge,” said Kohl’s on Fondacaro’s ability. “He displayed Division I ability in both kicking and punting when he hit multiple 70+ yard kickoffs and averaged over 45 yards per punt.”
In recent history, the Wildcats have had their woes at the kicking position since Mark Hamilton graduated in 2014. Meanwhile, John Hinchen was one of the top punters in the FCS but will be graduating this May. Fondacaro can help at both positions, although the kicking game seems to have stabilized itself with Drew Kresge.
