There is a new #1 in college basketball.

Villanova’s loss to Butler last week opened the door for Baylor to assume the top spot in the AP Poll as the Bears accumulated 55 of 65 first place votes in the 10th poll of the College Basketball season.

The Wildcats (15-1, 3-1), who also defeated Marquette last week, dropped to #3 behind Kansas. UCLA and Gonzaga round out the top 5.

‘Nova next returns to the court on Tuesday night when they host #15 Xavier at The Pavilion.

The BIG EAST is also represented by Creighton at #8 and Butler at #12 while Seton Hall is receiving votes.
