4-star guard David Duke was scheduled to begin his official visit to Villanova on Thursday, but that will no longer happen. Duke is the lone remaining target with an offer in the class of 2018 for the ‘Cats, but he’ll instead trip to Providence this weekend per Rivals’ Corey Evans.

Now, that’s not to say he won’t reschedule the official visit to Villanova, but things don’t look good with Duke coming off a reportedly very good visit to Virginia Tech.
If this is indeed the end of Villanova’s pursuit of Duke, there’s three clear options:
- Explore the grad transfer market, which Villanova has yet to do.
- Find a reclass option. Bryce Willis and Jalen Lecque could both potentially be a fit as they were originally members of the 2018 class.
- Move on to the 2019 class where they have several offers on the table such as Cole Anthony, Isaiah Wong and Justin Moore plus the aforementioned Willis and Lecque.
With Collin Gillespie reportedly looking solid, moving on to 2019 could be the preferred move, though I certainly wouldn’t rule out a reclass just yet.
