We’re not even finished with the 2017 season, but next year’s slate for CAA teams is officially out.
The complete schedule was released Wednesday afternoon. The Wildcats will kickoff the year with the Mayor’s Cup, their rivalry game with FBS school Temple. Villanova nearly pulled off the upset this season, losing 16-13, but it will get another crack at it to start the 2018 campaign.
All in all, Villanova has five home games next year, evenly dispersed throughout the season.
It will take on Lehigh once again in non-conference play. This season, the Wildcats won the season opening shootout, 38-35, over the Mountain Hawks. Villlanova will also face another Patriot League school in Bucknell, a team that the Wildcats haven’t faced since they easily handled the Bison back in 2005.
The Wildcats will close the season with their rival, Delaware, in a Battle of the Blue that will take place on the road.
