There’s a new name to put on to your 2018 Villanova Wildcats big board, as 247 guru Andrew Slater broke the news that 4-star forward Jairus Hamilton is likely to take an official visit to Villanova.
Jairus Hamilton has already officially visited Maryland, BC and Mississippi State. Likely official visit to Villanova next #PhenomShowcase pic.twitter.com/83X5wpevz4

Hamilton is a 6’8” 210 pound small forward who is ranked #66 in the 247 Composite. He attends Cannon School outside of Charlotte in North Carolina and spent time with both the Georgia Star (Nike) and Team Loaded (adidas) this past AAU season.
Per 247 he has received offers from North Carolina, Duke, Arizona, Kansas and many others but seems to have focused in on Maryland, Boston College and Mississippi State recently.
Hamilton fits the bill for Villanova with his length and driving ability on the offensive end. He doesn’t display much shooting in the highlights I’ve seen, but he’s relentless attacking the basket and reportedly has some post-up skills as well. His athleticism is impressive too and he looks like he could be devastating in transition.
With Villanova mostly chasing point guards to close out the cycle, getting involved with Hamilton this late in the game is a (pleasant) surprise. It also lends credence to the theory that the staff believes that some of Villanova’s wings and forwards (i.e. Mikal Bridges and Eric Paschall) may not be around for next season.
