They engaged in thrilling games over the last few years, and now they’ll be able to do again over the next two seasons.
The Villanova Wildcats and the Kansas Jayhawks announced on Monday that they will commence a two-year, home-and-home series beginning in the 2018-19 season.
Villanova will start the series on the road, heading over to Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence, Kansas on Dec. 15, 2018.
The following year, the Jayhawks will come to the Wells Fargo Center to play the ‘Cats on Dec. 21, 2019.
The all-time series between both schools is knotted up at 3-3.
The Wildcats won the last two meetings with the Jayhawks, most recently triumphing over them in the Elite Eight en route to a 2016 National Championship. Before that, Villanova downed Kansas in the 2013 Battle 4 Atlantis semifinals.
Villanova also won the last time Kansas came to the Wells Fargo Center, winning 83-62 back in 2005. However, the Wildcats’ one and only trip to Allen Fieldhouse didn’t go as well, as the Jayhawks defended home court in an 86-79 victory over the ‘Cats a year earlier.
It’s a while away, but the series will be here before you know it.
