Quarterback Kyle McCloskey signs with Villanova Football

The ‘Cats are getting a big-time athlete to lead the offense.

Germantown Academy (Pa.) quarterback Kyle McCloskey has signed his Letter of Intent to play football at Villanova, the school announced this morning.

A 6'4" 205 lb. prospect classified as a pro-style quarterback, McCloskey is a big-time athlete with a cannon for an arm. Given he can run as well, he’s much more of a dual-threat that will thrive in Villanova’s offensive system.

McCloskey was named 1st Team All-League, All-Area and All-City in 2016. He also doubles as a legit Division 1 basketball prospect. Jay Wright offered McCloskey a roster spot, but he turned it down preferring to focus just on football in college.

Quarterback is a position the ‘Cats have recruited extremely well in recent years. Zach Bednarczyk is entrenched as the starter and Adeyemi DaSilva received valuable experience last year. McCloskey likely won’t be rushed into action, but he’s a legit long-term solution at the position and one of the highest-rated prospects in the class.
