Waynesboro Area (Pa.) linebacker Forrest Rhyne has signed his Letter of Intent to play football at Villanova, the school announced this morning.
A 6'2" 220 lb. 2-star prospect, Rhyne is a perfect fit for Villanova’s ‘Mayhem’ scheme on defense. Rhyne excells as a MLB shedding blocks, filling holes, and finishing tackles. He was an All-State selection for the second straight year, his League’s MVP, and was named to the Pennsylvania Super 25 team.
Villanova has had no shortage of outstanding linebackers in recent years with Don Cherry and Austin Calitro both earning All-American honors in back-to-back years. Anderson should carry that tradition on moving forward, and there’s ample playing time available with Calitro, T.J. White and Travis Clark out the door.
