Linebacker Amin Black signs with Villanova Football

Imhotep (Pa.) linebacker Amin Black has signed his Letter of Intent to play football at Villanova, the school announced this morning.

A 5’10" 215 lb. prospect, Black looks like a great fit for the hybrid safety/linebacker role in Villanova’s 3-3-5 defensive scheme (assuming they keep it). Though he’s a bit undersized, he’s a ferocious tackler with great speed who has the ability to play downhill or drop into coverage. He was named 1st Team All-League and All-State as a senior.

While his defensive position may fluctuate down the line, he was recruited as a linebacker, thus we’ll slot him into that depth chart for now. He could certainly make an impact as a safety as well.
